One year later...

So a year later from our last post...We are really horrible at keeping this up-to-date, and I apologize!  I wish there were an excuse, but updating the blog is just not high on our list.

That being said, as I write this, I can hardly remember what season it is, let alone month or day (no thanks to the crazy weather we've been having lately...90s on Wednesday and low 60s today)...in our house, however, it is a season of learning and growing.  I'm almost halfway done with my Masters of Public Health program at the University of Kansas Medical Center and am LOVING being back in school.  It's a bit of a challange balancing a full course load with a full-time job and a full-time husband, but so far so good!  (Maybe ask Alec about that husband thing, though...)  Unfortunately, I am no closer to discovering my career as of yet, but I trust that I will find some place I can serve.  We have about three weeks left of school at the middle school where I've spent the past year as a paraprofessional in the life skills classroom.  It's been a year of ups and downs with the students, but I've learned invaluable lessons on how to work with teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

My dear husband Alec is in his last days of seminary and come May 13th, will have his Masters of Theology from Nazarene Theological Seminary!!  He is also diligently working part-time at the public library and part-time at our church as a custodian.  (Which also equals full-time student plus full-time job plus full-time husband, in case you didn't get that...)  He's discerning his career as well and will begin working in the fall towards his Masters in Library Science through an online program at San Jose State University.

Nothing like career students, right?  Never a dull moment in our house!!

This week is finals, so I'll say adios for now, but with summer almost here, I'm going to try my best to get a post up every week.  Maybe I'll have to enlist Bri's help because she seems to have it figured out...

Until next week!
Kelcey and Alec
